Pertaining to End of Service Gratuity, and I have two specific questions which I hope you can help me with or at least guide me.
The first question relates to the “continuous service date”. My unlimited employment contract has this as the day I started with the company in the UK in 2005, after which I moved with the company to Dubai in 2010. Wrt the gratuity payment, would the ‘continuous service date” be 2005 or 2010 - the employment contract does have 2010 date as when my employment will commence in Dubai?
My second question relates to calendar days versus business days. From reading many articles, calendar days prevail and this is stated in the UAE Labour Law. However, my law jurisdiction is Dubai Internet City. Would the law in this regard be different?
I do hope that someone can assist me with these question.
