Hi Mr. Deepak,
I just like to consult about my experience with an employer.
I successfully pass the recruitment process from one of the well-known companies in Dubai and they asked me to sign an offer letter.
I read the details well and agreed on the clauses and decided to sign it.
I was actually given 1 copy of it.
On the same day when I was about to submit my resignation on my current employer, the HR officer called me and ask me to postpone the submission of my resignation letter because he said they are still waiting for the CEO's approval.
This sounds odd because I believe that every position being hired in a department is budgeted and should be reviewed first by higher management before the request to HR must be sent to post vacancy and find qualified candidates for the position.
For a few days, they were silent and when I did my follow-up to the HR officer and ask him how did it happen that they are recruiting people without the approval from respective people, he just answered me to wait for his go signal before resigning. I have a friend in that company and he told me the real score. The position offered to me was offered to another person (who is currently employed with them planning to leave) and since both of us accepted the offer and signed the contract, they wanted to bump me off. I received a call from the Manager of the department that I am supposed to join and he admitted that this is the problem. Therefore, he said my employment will not push through. He promised that there will be new brands to be acquired and if I am interested after Ramadan, I should call him again. I asked if he is telling me that my contract is cancelled and he said that technically it is.
Is what they have done legal or lawful? Do I have any right to insist my employment or file a case?
