I had joined a Company in SAIF Zone as Sales Manager with Offer letter of AED 8000 pm. Company requested me that considering procedural matters, we shall show your designation as Sales Supervisor and put salary as 1500AED pm. PRO also showed me the list of the designations and salary as maintained in SAIF Zone office and said its is absolutely normal to do this. Believing in this I signed the SAIF Zone Labour Contract. For 1st 2 months Co didnot pay me and I realised that Company didnot have intentions to pay even. Meanwhile I had collected information from colleagues that despite of working for 14 hours per day, Company was not paying them sighting always a reason of "No Collection of Money from the customers". During my probation period, Company delayed my visa stamping, Medical, Emirates ID procedure etc and I continued working for more than 2 months (without salary). Suddenly Company Management said that in view of the market conditions, they will reduce my Salary from AED 8000 to AED 6000 pm and new Offer letter wa made with new terms and conditions, for which I refused. Then Company said if it s not acceptable to me, I can resign. Not knowing the rules and regulations fully, I resigned from the services within 2-1/2 months. Then company said they will cancel my visa( meanwhile stamping was done) but I shall not get any money. Nothing at all !!
SAIF Zone guided me that seems such is the ractice being followed by some notorious companies and better that I sign all the papers and get relieved or else these companies are capable of harassing new employees. Most important, SAIF Zone cannot help me since I signed Labour Contract with salary of AED 1500 pm and Offer Letter Salary of AED 8000 will not be considered at all.
With this communication, I wish to reiterate a fact that nobody should sign Labour Contract with terms and conditions (especially salary) other than that in Offer Letter.
Some Companies seem to have business of bringing in people from developing countries, use them free and discard and the cycle continues......!!!
Labour Contract is the superceding document over Offer Letter !!!
